Learning built for the moment when knowledge must become action

ELN brings together education, technology, governance and workplace experience through Eureka Learning Network and ELN Game Studio. We are proudly Australian, certified veteran-owned and female-owned.

ELN was created to close the gap between information and action. Across vocational education, higher education, government, industry and technology, Dr Sandra Gallagher repeatedly saw people complete learning without enough opportunity to practice, make decisions or build confidence before performance mattered.

Eureka Learning Network was established in 2020 to create practical learning, assessment, governance and workforce solutions. ELN Game Studio grew from the related question of whether immersive environments could give people a safer and more engaging place to explore a problem and practise a response.

Today, ELN presents these strengths as one capability. The organisation combines education, governance, workplace experience and technology while remaining proudly Australian, certified veteran-owned and female-owned. The story should feel human, credible and evidence-led rather than like a corporate chronology.

Purpose and mission

Our vision is a future in which every learner has an opportunity to practise, apply and build confidence before performance matters.

Our mission is to create practical, credible and engaging solutions that help organisations turn complex requirements into human capability.

Values

  •  Purpose before product.
  • Curiosity with discipline.
  • Human capability matters.
  • Own the outcome.
  • Stronger through partnership.

Dr Sandra Gallagher

I established Eureka Learning Network because I wanted to create learning that people could genuinely use. With a Doctorate in Information Technology specialising in Information Systems, and experience across the Army Reserve, TAFE, higher education, government, industry and technology, I have seen that effective learning must have a clear purpose, provide meaningful practice and build the confidence to act.

As an academic, I redesigned courses and assessments to move learning beyond textbooks and passive instruction. At UTS, I transformed a traditionally theory-heavy finance subject into a collaborative virtual-business experience where students applied financial concepts to realistic decisions. Following the redesign, the proportion of students achieving a pass grade or higher increased from 60% to 91%. The project became a UTS Learning Futures case study.

ELN Game Studio grew from that same philosophy: people learn more effectively when they can practise, make decisions and experience the consequences. Immersive environments give learners a safe place to do exactly that.

Michael Gullotto

Michael is the Technical Project Lead at ELN Game Studio, where he oversees the development and deployment of the studio's projects and works closely with clients. He brings together a rare mix of technical skill and people leadership, built on an unconventional path into the industry.

Before moving into games, Michael spent two years as a Duty Manager at Dan Murphy's, developing the management experience that would later define his career. During COVID, he retrained at North Sydney TAFE, completing a Certificate III in Information Technology and Networking, a Certificate IV in Digital and Interactive Games with a game programming major, and a Diploma of Interactive Game Design.

He joined ELN Game Studio as a Junior Developer and, drawing on his management background, advanced rapidly to Team Leader before stepping into his current role leading the studio's technical projects.

Max McDonnell

I am a junior developer on the ELN Game Studio team, using my design and programming skills to help the team build an engaging experience. I always try my best to learn as much as I can about my craft and build things that I am proud of.
One of my strengths is having a clear vision for what I want, then focusing hard to make it a reality.

I recently graduated from RMIT completing a Bachelor's of Game Design, and winning the Program Excellence award for my
capstone game "Dero Dazza's Dirty Dash". I also managed to score a runners up prize for the ACMI X Lab competition, which provided
me with 3 months residency at ACMI X's game design studio space. Taking advantage of this, I've been working on my own new
project called "Exergy".

Outside of game development, I love playing piano and guitar, hiking, gardening, hanging out with my cat and friends,
listening to music, and (of course) playing games.
